Surface fuzz is normal

New jute develops a layer of fine fuzz. Some people singe this off; you can also brush it off with a coir brush, or just allow it to shed naturally with use. It's part of the breaking-in phase every jute rope goes through and not a defect.

Keep it dry

Jute is a natural fibre and doesn't love being damp. If you can, we recommend airing your ropes out after use by hanging them. If your ropes do get wet you'll need to hang them under tension.

Re-oil when it dries out

Over time and use, jute loses some of the oils and will start to feel stiff and brittle. Re-treat the ropes with a jute-suitable oil (camellia/tsubaki oil is standard, jojoba oil is also very popular). How often you'll need to treat your ropes depends on how often you use it, whether it's used on skin or clothing and also the climate.

Nice kit, book was a little greasy?

The ropes and hoop are beautiful! I love them… although for the price it might be nice to include a cotton bag to store them in? Also the book looks great but the cover seemed to be covered in what I assume to be some kind of smudgy rope oil/treatment? I can probably clean it but it was a bit of a shame. Anyway, I love the rope so not wholly unhappy with it!

Black Rope Suspension set

Good quality rope for a good price. Comes with helpful flyers! :)

Fantastic and beautifully made items.

What an incredible set of ropes, ring and book. The ropes are wonderfully prepared, and have a great feel. The book is very informative and detailed, with stunning images. The product was provided in a lovely bag and with important messages on nerves in the body. Absolutely love it.

Hi,

I was just wondering if you're going to be restocking the pink jute rope? I really want to purchase the shibari airtime kit in pink ideally, but wasn't sure whether it was worth waiting for when the pink gets restocked or just buying the natural jute if you're not planning on restocking soon.

Many thanks,

Fae 😊

Anatomie Rope Shop

Hi there :) At the moment we are not expecting stock back until possibly this summer, so I would recommend going for the natural rope as we have them ready to go :)
